Heritage Open Days - programme of events in St Albans and district

Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 September 2017

By Jill Singer

Each September for one weekend, St Albans opens its doors to allow you to visit many of the museums and attractions free, and to explore buildings normally closed to the public. It is a once-a-year chance to discover architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities that bring local history and culture to life.

As the Society's contribution John Cox, our Publicity Officer, has organised a display about the important link between the bankruptcy of local farmer, Stephen Smith, in the 1840s and Verulamium Park. Intrigued? If so, do visit Verulamium Museum.

For further details please download this brochure prepared by the St Albans Civic Society.
