A series of lectures about key events in the history of St Albans

By Jonathan Mein

To raise funds for the New Museum project ('renaissance: St Albans'), members of the Society, experts in their topics, are giving talks about four key events in the city's history:

6 October - '1st Battle of St Albans, 1455' - Peter Burley

3 November - 'The Dissolution of St Albans Monastery, 1539' - Jane Kelsall

2 February (2017) - 'Votes for a Fiver - The Parliamentary Bribery Commission, 1851' - Ann Dean

2 March - 'Lord Grimthorpe and the Renovation of the Abbey' - Jane Kelsall (Note: this talk has sadly had to be cancelled; a replacement talk is being organised on the same date)

Each talk starts at 7.45pm at Verulamium Museum. The cost is £10 per ticket. Bookings can be made by phoning the Museum on 01727 751810.

Further details are available on the poster to the right.

The talks are sponsored by Collinson Hall, estate agents of St Albans and Chiswell Green.
