Under the Society’s aegis, Jinghui Foo, a third-year student at the University of Hertfordshire, ran an on-line competition earlier in the year aimed at involving young people in a new and novel approach to photographing the Clock Tower.

The winner of the competition was Petra Koblova, a student visiting from Prague, with the judges describing her four photos as being “fresh and imaginative”. The photo to the right is one of these. Joseph Bonfield was the runner-up.

Petra was presented with her prize by the Mayor, Annie Brewster, at the recent thank-you party held for Clock Tower volunteers at St Michaels Parish Hall. You can see another of the photos ("Touch the Sky") together with a picture of the prize-giving by clicking on this link to the Herts Advertiser report of the event.
